In November 2004, Denyse Beaugrand-Champagne  published Le Procès de Marie-Josèphe-Angélique (Libre Expression, ISBN 2-7648-0156-4), a very well documented inquiry on the trial of a black slave, property of the Poulin de Francheville family, accused of the burning of Montreal in 1734.
